Goings On & Ramblings

Introducing my first novel –

Halftime: High School Pain & Glory

Standing on the grass with his saxophone after the last high school halftime show of his freshman year, PW Stephens knew this story needed to be shared. But before he could do the story justice, he had to experience life. When he was 21, he married the girl he’d known since he was 8 years old. Together, they went to college, had a family, and moved around the country several times. They always made their way back to Alabama. Now, with a lot of life and years under his belt, it’s time.

In a town where high school memories linger like whispered secrets, Phillip finds himself caught between the bittersweet nostalgia of his youth and the unexpected twists reshaping his future. As old rivalries, rekindled romances, and the ice-cold tension of a football season set the stage, his world tilts on the edge of a dramatic transformation—one that forces him to confront the past while daring to dream of something more. With family bonds, community pride, and the roar of the stadium at stake, Phillip must decide if he can overcome the obstacles of old wounds and emerging challenges, leaving readers desperate to uncover whether redemption and love will prevail.
